Trip Details

This photography tour takes place near Blairgowrie in Perthshire, Scotland.

On the first evening Karen will take you to a location where a family of beavers reside.  We'll watch for them leaving their lodge to forage, groom and work along the river.  This is a large family and they are fascinating to watch and photograph.  The July tours are timed to coincide with the emergence of the kits (should there be any).  The Jun tours won't see kits but will have the longest viewing window and the other beavers including the 2025 kits will be active.

The following day will be spent at a red squirrel / woodland bird / evening pine marten hide*.  Red squirrels are wonderful little creatures and always a joy to behold.  The site is very natural but also has a jump and a log which the squirrels run along towards the hide.  It's great fun! There'll be a break for dinner and then we'll return to the hide in the evening when pine martens often visit.  It's such a thrill when these amazing animals appear.

On the final morning it's an early start to return to the river to photograph the beavers again before they return to their lodge for the day.  The light can be beautiful at this time and there's also the chance of otter and kingfisher.
